Wood Dog Bed For Your K9 Friend

A wood dog bed is a specially build bed of different shapes, sizes and materials suitable for a dog to sleep and rest on. They are made from different materials which may include bamboo, white cedar and other types of wood.

These dog beds come in a number of different designs which may look like an old style lounge with draws underneath, which can be a place to put all the dogs things in, as well as having a comfortable cushion for it to sit on. Then there is the one which looks like a soft sofa bed, the base sits above the floor on four legs and has a comfortable mattress for your canine friend.

Other designs are made in the style of a spindle bed with an open front. It sits on four non skid legs which helps protect any wooden floor. The back and sides are timber with a spindle look, the mattress is comfortable and has a washable cover as most dog beds do.

There are also hammock designs and rectangular block designs which sit close to the floor for the smaller dog and have a cushion on top, as well as a circular bed with an open front, one designed like a dolls bed and another designed as a small table which can sit next to a lounge with the dogs bed situated in and under the table. There is also the square pillow type which sits directly on the floor. There are many more to choose from.

Wood dog beds may be purchased from pet store outlets, they can be found on the internet, in a phone directory or by just visiting a pet shop when next in town.

Wooden dog beds can be positioned anywhere around the home or where ever a dog is kept. They are best placed away from drafts as this could cause the dog to get a chill and become sick, especially if it is a short haired variety. Even some of the smaller breeds with the long fur could become chilled if positioned in a draft in cold weather.

The advantage of a wood dog bed is that it can be moved. In summer months if in a warm to hot climate the dog bed can be moved to a cooler spot, this allow the dog to be comfortable and still have its own bed.

If in a really cold area, say where it snows then the bed could always be moved in front of a fire or heater, not too close so anything catches alight, just close enough so the dog is warm.

If the dog is quite large then there are beds that a canine like this will fit on. From large dogs right down to the tiny dog which takes up very little room there would be one to fit it as well.

A second pillow, cushion or mattress can always be purchased to fit the wood dog bed for times when the covers will need a wash.

For those looking for a wooden bed for their dog or dogs then there are plenty of colours, designs, shapes and prices to check out before buying.
